Blank Street: The Scoop
Making a cult matcha brand a culture magazine
Blank Street is a next-gen matcha retail brand. So why did it set out to make a magazine?
Blank’s summer seasonal drinks were inspired by ice cream flavors and practically flew off the counters. After an incredible shoot with Matthew Xavier Praley (a Composite favorite… see our Eddie project!) they decided to commemorate the season with The Scoop, a magazine referencing early 00’s gossip rags but with a new, refined twist.
Composite not only led design. That would be too easy. Our team curated and edited each piece, proposing creative and art direction for new shoots, commissioned a variety of writers and thinkers to create new works, and brought a lot of friends and favorite collaborators along for the ride. The result? A very Composite magazine.
“Obsessed.”
